This, That and the Other

First off I want to thank all of my 2014 seniors for allowing me to capture your senior photos 🙂
It was a wonderful season and I adored working with all of my seniors this year.
I plan to continue blogging the rest of those sessions next week.

The summer months are crazy busy for me and that’s possible to do by prioritizing
and knowing I’ll have a few months off in the winter.  I’m still
wrapping up some end of the season things but I’ve already pulled out the sewing
machine and have been dreaming up my next quilt.  I will hole up all winter and work on crafty projects 😉

I finished up Brady’s quilt the other day.   So now, the pressure is off!   All
3 kids have their quilts done and are not begging for me to finish them.   I had to put Brady’s
quilt on hold all summer so he had to wait quite some time for it.  I’m not
crazy about the backing on his quilt but it turns out fabric (and quilting) is
expensive!   And I had already bought many yards of the orange chevron so I just went with it.

Up next is to finish my own personal quilt.   I just ordered the backing fabric yesterday.
Snuggling up on the couch with a quilt makes me happy 🙂

Another new project I hope to start this winter is Project Life!   Back in the day I was
an obsessive scrapbooker but then life got busy and it
was put aside.  My kids wish I still documented their lives like that, so does Matt and so do I.
My memory is so bad so having those books is priceless.
I was introduced to Project Life, thanks to Creative Live and it looks fun!   I plan
to start in January and document our year one week at a time.
What I miss most about scrapbooking is that fact that it always
prompted me to take more photos of our everyday life… something I have slacked on big time!

These babies are now 6, 8 and 10!!   yikes!

Have a great day 🙂

First day of school randomness

Can’t believe the kids (and the dad) went back
to school today!   It crept up on us so fast this year!

Look how excited they are 🙂

Thought I would add some more randomness
to this blog post.   I haven’t posted my family much lately.
Enjoying the sunset in this beautiful place we live in 🙂My favorite guy and my favorite puppy 😉Good thing he’s cute!   Cuz he is trouble…Showing me her gymnastics moves.  (and helping me scout for new locations)

Catching frogs in the backyard.Making faces for mom 🙂Taking care of his pupster.oh my baby boy…  he is the cutest 🙂

My Boys

I so seldom get photos of
my kiddos.   Mostly because they are not
fans of the camera.   I think I ruined them in my
days of practicing non stop.
They were both dressed somewhat
decent this day so I grabbed them for 5 minutes
each in the front yard.   (You can see a pull back at the end of this post)

The baby was being ornary and wouldn’t
let his brother touch him…. very typical of that boy 😉

Here’s a pull back of the tiny little space
we used.   You don’t need much space for
a nice portrait… just some really
gorgeous light 🙂

Meet our fur baby Felix

Last week we did something I said we would never do.   We got a puppy!
A cute one at that 🙂

Felix is a Bichon / Shih Tzu mix.   A zuchon… a Shichon, a Teddy Bear dog…   Apparently they go
by many different names.
The kids are thrilled and Matt and I
are overwhelmed 😉   I forgot how much time and attention goes
into a puppy!   But it wont last forever and so far he really has
been a nice little guy.

We drove to Wausau last week to get him.  He is just 9 weeks old.  He seemed
to adjust to our family so quickly!

Bath time!   Not his favorite but he’s getting use to it.
Someone is smitten 😉Head tilts are my favorite!!   How cute is that!!??

Dominican Republic – The tourist post

I did not take a ton of photos on this trip (besides the wedding)..  most of them are on my iphone.
I use my iphone as my point and shoot because my big girl camera is soo stinkin heavy to lug around.
But I did take it out a few times to capture some of the scenery.
The resort we stayed at was beautiful.   I felt like we were in a small town.

We haven’t seen flowers in months!  I was loving all the pretty colors.
One of the many pools.
Main lobby walking from the pool area.
One of the buffet restaurants overlooking the pool.
The view from one of our balcony’s.  (There were two!)My love…  going back up the 4 flights of stairs for something I forgot.  (I made him do it again right after..lol.)
Another pool.   We chilled on one these cabanas one afternoon.   It was divine.  😉
The view from the main lobby.
The beach!   Oh the beautiful beach.
My love and I.
And back home to our kiddos.  Such a pretty sunset.

This is what love looks like

hahah… hows that for a cheesy title 😉
I was playing around with my macro lens last night using our 10 year old wedding bands and
kind of laughing at how dinged up and scratched up and dirty they were.   Obviously, the bands I photograph at weddings are
brand spankin new.    But then it kind of hit me that that was a GOOD thing!
I hope all of my couples eventually have dinged up, scratched up, worn out rings 😉
